Textbook: Math Course1 & 2 – McDougal Littell
Materials Needed: A one subject notebook (for each quarter), a #2 mechanical pencil with eraser, scrap paper, rulers, highlighters, colored pencils and other necessary materials will be made available by teacher. If extra materials for projects are needed, students will be given prior notification.
Course Description: This is a general overview of the material that will be covered throughout the school year.
Concepts: The following new mathematical concepts will be introduced, explained, and analyzed throughout the school year; in accordance with the Arizona State Standards. Fractions, decimals, percentages, integers, estimation, measurement, mean, median mode, interpreting and graphing data, probability, algebra, and geometry.
Mrs. Swift’s Classroom Procedures
Upon entering the room
- Take out all needed materials for the class.
- Leave backpacks in designated area (teacher’s discretion) during class time.
- Pick up name plate from the back table that will be placed on assigned desk.
- Prior to the late bell ringing, sharpen pencils, have homework and agendas out to be checked.
- Read board and/or desinated area for added instructions.
After the bell has rung
- Begin working on seat work.
-Write out assignment from the board in agenda.
-Follow directions of teacher.
Prior to leaving
- Pack up backpacks.
- Turn in name cards
- Sit quietly until teacher has dismissed you.
Rules
Be on time and ready to work.
All work must be done in pencil.
Have all needed materials upon entering the class.
Show respect to others and their property.
Behavioral Consequences
When a student chooses not to follow the classroom guidelines and/or to disrupt the class, the following will occur:

1st Offense – Warning (For minor incidents).

2nd Offense – Student required to go to desinated area to record incident/ call parent for notification of incident.

3rd Offense – Set up parent conference and/or office referral: Referral (an automatic referral may be given for fighting, stealing, or infringing upon other safety issues, as deemed necessary by the teacher) and phone call to parent.
Available Support Services: Homework help will be available through the after school program (times and dates TBA). Also, I will be available for extra help via appointment.
